The School of Architecture collaborated with the Emerson Center for the Arts and Culture to exhibit to the Bozeman community some of the excellent work from the School of Architecture. The event titled “The School of Architecture at the Emerson” took place from November 1st , 2010 through February 15th , 2011 in multiple galleries at the Emerson Center including [the art project], the Weaver Room, and Emerson Foyer and Halls. The exhibit listing included Taking Stock by Professor Maire O’Neill and students, Advanced Architectural Graphics by Professor Henry Sorenson’s students, Chair Design and Construction by Professor Bill Clinton’s students, LaN Studio Exhibit by Monika Wittig and Shane Salisbury’s students, and Foreign Study Europe by Professor Christopher Livingston and Laura Landon’s students.

MSU Students Learn By Helping Architect
Mike Romito, who graduated from Skyview High in 1998, learned a lot about his hometown during a project to help the architect of Billings’ proposed library.
Supporters of Parmly Billings Library are working on getting a new library built at the same location. A mill levy to pay for the library is expected to come up for a vote this fall.
Architect Will Bruder of Phoenix was chosen to design the library after an anonymous donor promised $2 million so it would be “architecturally appealing.” Read More...

Montana State University, School of Architecture, is proud to present Paul Bertelli, who will present his lecture, “Heterodoxy: Art in Architecture”, Friday, January 28th at 5:30 p.m. in Gaines Hall 101. In addition to art in architecture, Mr. Bertelli will also cover additional topics including travel in architecture, career paths, philanthropy, and design/build.
Paul Bertelli is the Senior Design Principal and President of Jonathan L. Foote & Associates here in Bozeman. Paul and Jon Foote worked together for 21 years before Paul purchased the firm in 2000 with partners Dick Storbo, Tammy Hauer, and Logan Leachman. Paul studied architecture at Boston Architectural Center in Boston, Massachusetts and at Montana State University in Bozeman, Montana. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Environmental Design and a Master of Architecture. Paul is currently a board member of the Montana State University School of Architecture Advisory Council, a founding board member and current advisory board member of the Yellowstone Business Partnership, and a past trustee of the Museum of the Rockies. Paul is a much sought-after designer who has created some of the most unique houses in the country. The practice is nationally acclaimed and is published regularly in major design publications. For almost three decades, JLF & Associates has been at the forefront of modern place-based architecture in the American West and throughout the Country, and has fostered innovative breakthroughs that are setting new standards for design-build.
